Mohamed Dek Abdalla Delivers Keynote Speech at Somali Media Leaders Conference

A major conference attended by leaders of Somali media organizations, journalists’ associations, and representatives from international organizations supporting the media sector was held today in Mogadishu. The event featured an important keynote speech delivered by the Director General of SBC Somali TV and Deputy Chairman of the Media Association of Puntland (MAP), Mr. Mohamed Dek Abdalla.

The conference focused on the development of Somali media, improving journalists’ professional skills, and strengthening cooperation among media institutions across the country.

During his speech, Mohamed Dek Abdalla stated that Somali media plays a vital role in nation-building, protecting public awareness, and promoting good governance. He emphasized the need to support media organizations with modern training and equipment in order to produce high-quality news that benefits society.

The Director General of SBC Somali TV also highlighted that the rapid transformation of digital media has created a growing need for Somali journalists to adapt to modern technology and new methods of news broadcasting.

During the conference, Mohamed Dek Abdalla held separate meetings with several Somali media leaders and representatives of international organizations to discuss cooperation in journalist training programs and support for independent media.
